took the kids to L.A.

Came across some of my notes from our trip to L.A. last year, not previously published.

We got off the plane, took a shuttle to our rental car.  The shuttle was the easy part, as the kids love transportation.  It is always tough once we get to the rental facility and have to sit and wait for our car.  Two little boys, one iPad with a dying battery, aah!

Once we got the car, the kids were punchy so we decided to find someplace to eat breakfast.  Used my Urbanspoon app and Dinah's popped up.  Why not.  This place was great.  Typical diner food:  French toast, blueberry pancakes, eggs Benedict and my son's standby - chicken and fries.

We rented a condo in Anaheim in a complex called Dolphin's Cove.  This resort had mixed reviews, but it was perfect for us.  We will continue to rent condos when we go on vacation.  We had a one-bedroom with a pull-out couch in the living room, full  kitchen with a grocery store nearby, kids' DVDs to borrow in the main office, barbecue grills by the pool.  Usually we give the kids the bedroom and we take the living room pull-out bed - this is a safety precaution, as the pull-out bed generally blocks the entrance to a balcony and also near the front door to avert any attempted escape.
